The deadline for applications for the following two Communication Department scholarships for the 2011-12 academic year has been extended until Wednesday, April 20, noon. Please see the links below for the applications. Turn your completed application in to Frist 309.
WRCB TV/Sarkes Tarzian Scholarship – $1,000
Qualifications: Junior or Senior majoring in Communication whop want to pursue a career in television broadcasting; overall and major GPA 3.0; minimum of two semesters remaining before graduation.
Osovsky Family Scholarship in Journalism – $500
Qualifications: A student pursuing a major in journalism with a demonstrated financial need, overall and major GPA 3.0; minimum of two semesters remaining before graduation.
Advising for summer or fall classes by Communication Department faculty members will begin AFTER spring break. Advisement codes will not be available until March 14.

Transfer students and others needing to take required and elective courses are in luck this summer. Offerings in communication include three required classes and two electives, including one skills elective. Here’s the line up. Registration starts March 28.
