Just wanted to send out a quick reminder that you MUST pay for the session before your seat is reserved. We have several people who have gone into the system and selected a date but failed to pay. This DOES NOT reserve your space at that session. Our first two sessions are already overbooked and can not take anymore students.

PLEASE go in and check your account and make sure you have paid before you make arrangements to come to Chattanooga for a session. We have found out that Transfer Students have been getting the same confirmation note as Freshman. We are working to fix this and encourage Transfers to look at the Transfer Orientation page for accurate information regarding session times and schedules.

We have had several questions regarding issues with registering online. There could be a couple of reasons why:

1. Your birthdate is wrong in the system: There is a chance that there was a mistake in entering your date of birth into the University system or in moving your information from the University system to the Orientation database, or
2. You have not been added to the Orientation database yet: we got behind in putting in newly admitted students into the system and are working hard to catch up.

Either way, please contact us via the “Send a Message” link on the registration page. We will look into your account and get back to you within a day. Thanks for your patience and thanks for choosing UTC!

Melody Leigh Dale, a junior Spanish major, was selected by The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) as the NSCS Scholar of the Week, a recognition program for NSCS. Members of this honor society must have a GPA of 3.4 or above and rank in the top 20 percent of their class.

We have had a couple of questions on how to register parents and family members on the site.  This can be a little confusing due to the language used by our system. Students can add “guests” to their reservation through their “My Reservation” page.

By adding a guest, you are registering that person for the Parent/Family orientation session that runs concurrently with the student session. Please give us a call if you experience any issues with the system or have any questions about Orientation.

The University has created a new immunization form. This form is for all new students enrolling at UTC in the fall 2009 semester.

It is very important that you bring your COMPLETED form to your orientation session. The main difference in the new form is that it REQUIRES the signature of the health care provider who gave you the vaccination.

Do not use the form that is listed on the Student Health Center page. It is for returning students only. Sorry for the confusion and please contact the Orientation office if you have any questions.

Many of you have contacted the office regarding online registration for UTC Orientation this summer. We are currently transitioning to a new registration system. We hope to have it up within the next week or so.

If you are participating in the Early Bird program and have already submitted your preferences, then you have been placed into a session and should have already received an email confirmation. For everyone else, there will be ample opportunity for you to sign up for the session of your choice. We did fill the first June session with reservations from those participating in the Early Bird program, but all other sessions still have several spots left.

From Financial Aid:

Please note no financial aid will be applied to your account prior to the first day of class.  If you expect a refund check, the first available date will be August 19.  Generally, refunds are produced in the Bursar’s Office on Tuesday and Friday of each week.

Move In for students attending the August 13th session will be on Monday, August 11th
