I went to Riverbend last night to see Steven Curtis Chapman. Riverbend is an eight day long concert series on the bank of the Tennessee River here in downtwon Chattanooga. The year Train, Little Richard, Montgomery Gentry, and the B-52s were the headliners. There is always gerat food and what seems like a million people! Also, on the last night of the festival there is a huge firework show. Riverbend is a great place to listen to music and hang out during the summer. Can’t wait for tonight’s show!

Our last night on Late Night?
March 20th, 2009We here at UTC are all proud of our Mocs. It was an improbable run through the SoCon to the NCAA Tournament and we’re really proud of all of them.
Here’s Friday night’s last UTC clip.
More Jimmy Fallon & the Mocs are in the Elite 8*
March 19th, 2009*In NCAA 09 on the 360
After seeing Jimmy Fallon take the Mocs out of the first round I decided to try my hand and see how the Mocs fared in on the 360.
First up, UCONN which was our biggest test. UCONN’s 3 centers are all over 7 feet tall so matching up was a big problem when they went big. When they did, UCONN went on a couple good runs, but in the end the Mocs prevailed due to Stephen McDowell’s incredible 6/6 night from the 3 point line.
After winning such a big game the Mocs were set up for a letdown against a hot BYU team. To be honest this was our hardest test. Jasper Williams hit a 7 foot jump shot with 2 seconds remaining in order to put the Mocs up by one and give us the victory! I was so excited I didn’t even get a video, but here’s a picture of the scoreboard:

Our second appearance in the Sweet 16 brought us up against the Northern Iowa Panthers. I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard of a Panther being in Iowa, much less Northern Iowa but hey, whatever. It didn’t matter what their mascot is, they were BLOWN OUT by the Mocs who had doubled NIU up by half time.
But then Lost came on so I had to quit playing for the night. Don’t fret, the Mocs will continue their quest towards their first NCAA Championship tonight!
Also remember that you can catch the real game today at 3 pm on your local CBS station. If you local station isn’t playing the game or you’re at work you can also watch every game FREE by going to this website:

The Mocs were also featured again last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy had Coach Shulman on via Skype and had a visit with UTC Alum Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding!). They even had a little pep rally featuring Scrappy and a few selected members of our cheerleading, dance, & pep bands!
GO MOCS!
We’re still on Late Night!
March 18th, 2009Once again UTC was featured on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He even included a slow serenade to our Coach Shulman, the Don Juan of the SoCon. Here’s last night’s clip.
We were also featured on the shows official blog:
