UTC EE Students Awarded DOE-sponsored Scholarships

Seven UTC Electrical Engineering (EE) students were awarded $1,000 scholarships for the spring semester sponsored by the department’s DOE workforce development grant. Student Awarded IEEE Power and Energy Society Scholarship

David Nordy, Jr., an Electrical Engineering junior and the president of the student chapter of the IEEE, was been selected as an IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Scholar. Free Transformer Workshop at UTC, June 22-23

The Department of Electrical Engineering is hosting a free, two-day workshop on Diagnostic Measurements on Power Transformers. The workshop, sponsored by Omicron electronics, will feature industry-leading presenters. The Transformer Workshop is designed to provide you the essential information needed to determine the condition of your transformer assets. Participants will be introduced to the most modern and effective test techniques and practices that can be applied to power transformers today.

Electrical Engineering Student Awarded Charles Foundation Scholarship

Joshua Waller, a rising  junior in UTC’s Department of Electrical Engineering, was awarded the prestigious Mario C. and Grace B. Charles Foundation Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year. This $10,000 award is in addition to the Edwin Duckett Scholarship and the William Q. Gurley Scholarship that Mr. Waller was previously awarded. A veteran of the Coast Guard, Mr. Waller is the Vice President of the student chapter of IEEE.
