Registration for spring classes begins

With the holidays and a new year are quickly approaching, it’s time to register for spring classes.

Symposium on the 19th Century Press, the Civil War, and Free Expression

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Twentieth Annual Symposium on the 19th Century Press, the Civil War, and Free Expression will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, November 8-10.  The conference will begin Thursday afternoon at the Sheraton Read House Hotel and continue Friday and Saturday at the UTC University Center.  All paper sessions are free and open to the public.

When Monica Kinsey, UTC alumna, opened Track 29 with her husband Adam and other business partners, people still continued to ask her a pesky question that haunts many newlyweds. When were she and her husband going to have a baby? Luckily for Kinsey, she had a smart retort.

Reporter and columnist Thomas Friedman to speak Nov. 13

The 2012-13 Hunter Lecture Series continues with Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter and columnist for The New York Times Thomas Friedman’s presentation “America: Ready for a Comeback?” on Tuesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. in the Tivoli Theater. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Sigma Xi lecture: “Insightful Problem Solving in Asian Elephants”

Dr. Preston Foerder, visiting assistant professor in The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Department of Psychology, will present his research on “Insightful Problem Solving in Asian Elephants” on Tuesday, November 13, from 2-3 p.m. in the Signal Mountain Room of the UTC University Center.
