UTC department head elected to Council of the American Political Science Association

Dr. Michelle Deardorff has been elected to the Council of the American Political Science Association (APSA).  It is the leading professional organization for the study of political science; more than 15,000 APSA members reside in excess of 80 countries.  Deardorff, professor and head of the Department of Political Science, Public Administration, and Nonprofit Management at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, will serve her council term from 2014-2016. UTC Theatre Company presents Clybourne Park

UTC Theatre Company in conjunction with the First Tennessee Foundation presents Bruce Norris’ Clybourne Park.

A Pulitzer and Tony Winner, this bitingly funny and provocative drama explores the history of the house bought by the Younger family of the American classic, A Raisin in the Sun.

“Hollywood’s Great War”

Dr. Pearl James will present “Hollywood’s Great War” a lecture about American war film portrayals of World War I, as part of a series of UTC events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the war.

Dr. Bryan Hampton and Dr. Chris Stuart honored with model ship dedication

Dr. Bryan Hampton and Dr. Christopher Stuart were recently honored with the dedication of model ships created by Frank Hill, a longtime lover of UTC. Hill has been associated with the University for forty seven years; thirty five years as an adjunct professor and twelve years as a student, auditing classes primarily in the humanities.
