This year’s Homecoming theme: “Made in Chattanooga”

Taking a cue from Chattanooga’s storied manufacturing history, this year’s homecoming theme is “Made in Chattanooga.” Plenty of fun events for students, alumni, and the community are planned to lead up to the big game on Saturday, October 12, when the football Mocs take on the Furman Paladins at 6 p.m. at Finley Stadium. Birthday cake is on the menu as the University celebrates its Founder’s Day on September 13. The Student Alumni Council and alumni will be serving cake in Heritage Plaza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in honor of UTC’s 127th anniversary.

UTC alumnus Tom Losh ’71 ’74 will be the next president of The University of Tennessee Alumni Association (UTAA). The association represents more than 335,000 alumni.

The Sunday before President Barack Obama arrived in Chattanooga on Tuesday, July 30, Amazon executives approached UTC communication alumna and Amazon employee Lydia Flanders ‘06 and asked if she wanted to introduce the Chief Executive.
