Two UTC teams to begin Southern Conference Championship play

Lady Mocs Basketball and UTC wrestlers will soon begin Southern Conference Championship play. After a two-year hiatus, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team reclaimed the Southern Conference title outright with a 68-59 win over Davidson at the McKenzie Arena in front of 2,336 fans. The win clinched the top seed for the Lady Mocs at the Southern Conference Tournament March 8-11 in Asheville, N.C.  Read more. 

Student athletes earn All-American Honors

Two University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football student-athletes were recently named to the 2012 College Sports Madness FCS Football All-American Team.  Junior linebacker Wes Dothard and sophomore tight end Faysal Shafaat both earned third team recognition from the online publication. Lady Mocs snare upset of #20 Tennessee at home

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team knocked off No. 20 Tennessee for arguably its biggest regular season win, prompting the student section to empty out and storm the court to celebrate. The Lady Mocs outscored the Lady Vols 52-43 in the second half for an 80-71 win in front of 8,468 fans in the season-opener for both teams, at the McKenzie Arena. Read more at GoMocs.com.

More honors for Mocs golfer Steven Fox

We couldn’t be prouder of Mocs golfer Steven Fox!  Fox made history on Sunday, August 19, when he won the U.S. Amateur Championship at Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado—the first Mocs golfer to win a national tournament.
