The Cress Gallery of Art celebrates a new semester with a display of student artwork for the the 2013 UTC Department of Art Annual Juried Student Exhibition. The exhibition runs through January 31. The gallery is open to the public and admission is free.
The Cress Gallery of Art is proud to announce the upcoming UTC Department of Art Senior Bachelor’s in Fine Arts Thesis Exhibitions. A spring tradition in the Cress, this year’s exhibition will feature the culminating visual research of 32 students in their final year of one of the Department’s Bachelor of Fine Art professional degree programs: 3-D Studio, Graphic Design, Painting and Drawing, and Photography/Media Arts.
Phillip Lewis, UC Foundation Assistant Professor of Art, has been awarded a Creative Capital Project Grant in Visual Arts. This prestigious national award will support his new project entitled SYNONYM. SYNONYM is a multi-disciplined project, which includes photographs, video, performance, installation, and the dissemination of information about experiences from inside the war on drugs and extremist treatment facilities.
The Cress Gallery of Art is hosting The UTC Department of Art 2012 Juried Student Exhibition, an annual tradition of the Cress Gallery and the UTC Department of Art. Artwork from UTC faculty is on display at the Cress Gallery of Art until October 2nd. Located in the lobby of the UTC Fine Arts Center, this exhibition of visual research is free and open to the public.
