Dr. James Hill Craddock to speak at Sigma Xi event

Dr. James Hill Craddock, Robert M. Davenport Professor in the UTC Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, will present “A Tree Crop Archetype:  the American chestnut” on April 2nd, at 4 p.m. in the University Center in the Chickamauga Room.

University partners with community for science programs

A degu, a small mammal found only in Chile, is bringing together the Chattanooga community. In partnership with the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (CGLA), the Chattanooga Zoo, and local TV station WTCI, the University is creating a collaborative educational outreach program to inform students and the community about this little known animal.

Student to present research at international scientific meeting

UTC student Carolyn Hoagland, selected as a Volkswagen Distinguished Scholar to work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, will present her research at the 2010 Annual Meeting and International Research Conference of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society.  This event will be held November 11-14 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
