The desegregation of college football affected more than just the players on the field. In his lecture, titled “Desegregating College Football in the Jim Crow South, 1945-1975,” Dr. Zeb Baker, Visiting Professor of History at Georgia Southern University, tells the story of how it affected all of campus life. Several UTC faculty members will be presenting original research at the annual meeting of the Tennessee Conference of Historians. The University will be hosting this year’s conference on September 1-3. The conference is free and open to the public.
