Noe kicks off Women’s Studies annual lecture series

Women’s Studies at UTC kicks off its annual lecture series on Monday, November 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Signal Mountain Room of the University Center with a presentation by Dr. Marcia Noe entitled “BFFs or Frenemies: Female Friendship in Literature and Culture.” All lectures in the series are open to the public and there is no charge to attend.

Psychology faculty conduct “Being Spiritual” survey

Dr. Ralph Hood, professor in the UTC Department of Psychology, and his team of researchers are hoping at least 600 participants in the United States will take a survey about spirituality and religion. Dr. June Scobee Rodgers’ Newest Book is Out of This World

Dr. June Scobee Rodgers will be signing copies of Star Challengers on October 15, 2-4 p.m. at the Challenger Learning Center. Books will be available for purchase at 50 percent off the regular price. Rodgers is best known as the founding chairman of the Challenger Center for Space Science Education.  But her newest venture is gaining attention in places like New York City, Hollywood and DragonCon in Atlanta.

New encyclopedia on religion has UTC connections

A new contemporary, multidisciplinary Encyclopedia of Religion in America has been edited by UTC Professor Emeritus Dr. Charles Lippy and includes nearly a dozen contributors with UTC connections.

UTC students, faculty dance at Tennessee Aquarium

Several students and one faculty member broke out in dance that seemed to spontaneously occur outside the Tennessee Aquarium on Sunday, September 5th.
