The UTC Music Department presents the faculty recital “Songs and Dances,” which will feature Doctors Jonathan McNair, Mario Abril, and Kenyon Wilson on Sunday, October 7, at 4 p.m. in the UTC Fine Arts Center, Roland Hayes Concert Hall, 752 Vine Street. This event is free and open to the public.

UTC Department of Music is hosting a Faculty Chamber Recital on Thursday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Center. This event is free of charge and is open to the public.
Composer-arranger and conductor Roland Carter, the Ruth S. Holmerg UC Foundation Professor of Music at UTC, has earned an award for his contributions and accomplishments in support of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUS) and minorities and rising leaders in the arts. He is also being honored Friday, February 3, by the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music at The University of Texas at Austin.
The 125th anniversary of UTC continues with a special musical presentation. The UTC Music Department in cooperation with the Chattanooga Choral Society for the Preservation of African American Song will present two evening performances of Scott Joplin’s opera Treemonisha on January 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee on January 29 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 general admission, $17 seniors, and $14 for students.
