National symposium: the history of music teaching and learning, June 2-4

Musicologists, music education historians, and historians of education will gather to discuss research in music teaching and learning at a triennial national symposium, co-sponsored by the UTC Music Department.  This event will be held at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel from Thursday-Saturday, June 2-4.

Orchestra concert rescheduled for tonight

The UTC Orchestra concert, which was canceled last night due to the weather and closing of UTC, will be performed tonight as part of the previously scheduled wind ensemble performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall of the UTC Fine Arts Center. Both groups will be doing only part of the repertoire they were originally scheduled to perform. A large crowd is expected, so early arrival

Whether it’s percussion performances, classical music or singing groups, the UTC Department of Music’s selection of spring concerts has something to please everyone. All concerts are free and open to the public.

UTC Opera Theater presents Mark Adamo’s Little Women

On April 8, 9 , and 10, the UTC Music Department presents UTC Opera Theatre in performances of Mark Adamo’s Little Women. The concert will take place on April 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and April 10 at 3:00 p.m. in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in the UTC Fine Arts Center.
