High school debate teams compete for UTC scholarships

Students from Tyner High School and The Howard School recently went head to head in a debate tournament to compete for recurring scholarships to UTC. The tournament consisted of two qualifying rounds leading up to the final debate in the UC Auditorium this May, during which teams competed in front of a professional audience that included UTC students as well as current judges, attorneys, and the current superintendent. SCEA to give collaborative arts education conference

The Southeast Center for Education in the Arts (SCEA) will host its fourth national Arts and Education Forum on May 11-13. The forum, titled “Aesthetic Learningscapes – Exploring Elegant Environments,” will bring together educators, artists, and professionals from diverse disciplines to explore the changing environments in which students learn.
