Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s musical thriller, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street comes to the UTC Roland Hayes Concert Hall. Ben Williams, a UTC alumnus, won a 2012 Obie award for Sound Design in the play, “The Select (The Sun Also Rises).” The Obie Awards are annual awards given to theatre artists and groups in New York City. They are said to be “Off-Broadway’s highest honor.”
In partnership with the Salvation Army of Chattanooga, the UTC Department of Theatre and Speech will assist in a community production of the popular musical, Godspell on July 20th and 21st at 7:30 p.m., July 22nd at 2 p.m., and July 23rd and 24th at 7:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army at 800 McCallie Ave.
UTC Theatre presents The Winter’s Tale, a comedy by William Shakespeare, in the Dorothy Hackett Ward Theatre. Performances are on April 10th – 14th at 7:30 p.m. and a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 14th.
