To celebrate the University’s 125th anniversary, the UTC Department of Women’s Studies is sponsoring a series of lectures with the theme women and the University. Titled “Journal of a Georgia Woman,” the first lecture is on Wednesday, September 14 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Grote Hall, Room 131.
The Women’s Studies “Explore, Connect, Empower” speaker series continues with a presentation on Monday March 21st, Lindsay Irvin, UTC Adjunct Instructor of History, will speak on the life and legacy of St. Margaret, Queen of Scotland.
Dr. Sharon Redhawk Love will present “Rising Violence against Native Women in Native Communities: We are our Sisters’ Keepers” in the UTC Women’s Studies speaker series “Explore, Connect, Empower.” This presentation, free and open to the public, will be held Monday, February 28, 5:30 p.m. in the Raccoon Mountain Room of the UTC University Center.
