Campus Update

Congratulations to Dr. Bryan Johnson who was named the Superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools on July 8.  We appreciate all Bryan has done for our campus this past year and wish him well in his new position in Atlanta.

Bryan’s departure creates the need for the following organizational changes:

• Vice Chancellor Vicki Farnsworth will serve as point person for the completion of our Strategic Plan. She will work closely with co-chairs of the Committee to bring a final draft to the UT Board of Trustees at the February meeting.
• We will run a UT System-wide search for a Vice Chancellor of Communications and Marketing on an expedited timeline. Provost Jerold Hale has agreed to chair this search which we hope to conclude September 1, 2024.  Beginning on August 1, VC Farnsworth will oversee the day-to-day operations of Communications and Marketing.
• VC Farnsworth will also provide leadership for key campus-wide initiatives and the day-to-day operations of the Chancellor’s Office.

Dr. Bryan Johnson has had a huge impact on UTC in the past year, and we are grateful for his work on behalf of our campus.  I also want to thank Vicki Farnsworth for stepping up to provide leadership for key initiatives – I know she will do an excellent job.
