At our Mocs Mail Center, we have taken many precautions to help keep our customers and employees safe. If you’ve recently been to our mail center, you’ve likely witnessed many of these precautions, which include the use of additional protective wear, practicing social distancing while handing off mail and packages and creating smaller working teams to limit exposure.
We thank the UTC community for being flexible and patient while we all work together to keep our campus healthy.
Our goal is to reduce the likelihood of any service disruption. To achieve that, we need your help. Please review the following tips for keeping us all safe:
- If you are expecting an important letter or package and a disruption of service could impact you, please consider having that item mailed to your home address or to a UPS or Fed Ex pickup location. Please refer to www.ups.com or www.fedex.com for available pickup options in your area.
- Take extra precautions when handling your mail and packages. Dispose of packaging, disinfect any surfaces and wash your hands.
- When picking up mail and packages, please remember to practice social distancing. Call ahead and have your items brought outside to our dock for you to collect. Allow the mail center employee to set the package down and walk away before you attempt to retrieve it.
- Many departments are now calling ahead to ask about mail and packages that may be waiting before making the decision to pick up. If you would like to have your mail or packages held, just give us a call at 423-425-4137 to make arrangements.
For additional tips, please refer to information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at www.cdc.gov and the World Health Organization at www.who.int.
