Greetings from the beautiful campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga!
As we close the academic record book of the 2019 Spring semester, we celebrate the continued successes of our students, staff and faculty. In this issue of eNews, you will find some of those success stories including a chemical engineering senior student receiving NSF research fellowship, a computer science research team working on a project to map underground infrastructure and an electrical engineering faculty member winning an early career award from an international organization. You will also find a story of a student team participating at a regional robotics competition, bringing home third place among 44 teams.
Don’t miss the video recap of the successful, 2nd annual Technology Symposium. With nearly 700 attendees, the event showcased senior capstone projects, freshmen design projects, and undergraduate and graduate research projects. It was truly a community event, taking place in the downtown library with participants from industry and Hamilton county schools.
You will also find a story about the generous gift of an alumnus, Mr. Daniel Batkin, laying the path for future student success at the college. I continue to be amazed by the caliber and dedication of our students, staff, faculty, friends and partners. It’s an exciting time to be part of this college’s ascent.
