File Storage and File Sharing

Service Description: UTC provides a secure file storage solution upon request of faculty and staff. IT provides data storage for UTC staff and departments. Departments are given space to share data among other employees within the department. Staff have data storage assigned to them to use as back up of business documents to protect against data loss.

You should use secure file storage when you have the need to store files securely. All confidential and/or classified information should be sent securely. This kind of information includes, but is not limited to:

  • HIPAA-protected patient data
  • FERPA-protected student information
  • Credit card numbers
  • Social Security Numbers
  • Other sensitive, restricted, or private information.

Service Levels: This service is available 24/7 except during planned periods of maintenance and scheduled updates. Support is available during normal UTC business hours.
