On Tuesday and Wednesday, Bloodanooga returns to UTC, offering a chance to break the 400 pints collected in Fall Semester, a record-setting number for universities in the Southeast.
Overall, UTC has been the largest blood donor for the last two years.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Blood Assurance will be taking donations in the Tennessee Room at the University Center. Every donor gets free swag, including the new Spring Break T-shirt and UTC socks. There will also be a drawing for a Yeti cooler.
Blood from Bloodanooga stays in the Chattanooga area, going to Erlanger, Memorial and Parkridge hospitals as well as other local medical facilities.
At the event, you also can add your name to the Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Donations of marrow can be used to treat those with life-threatening leukemia and lymphoma. In Fall Semester, 200 UTC students signed up for the registry.
Bloodanooga is a partnership between the UTC’s Division of Student Development and Healthy Living Initiative and Blood Assurance.
