DiPietro on job as UT President

Dr. Joe DiPietro began his first day of work today as the new University of Tennessee president. DiPietro previously served as the chancellor of the UT Institute of Agriculture. He was elected the 24th president by the Board of Trustees on Oct. 22, 2010. [Read more]

Principal Leadership Academy cohort meets on campus

The first class of the Principal Leadership Academy met on the UTC campus recently to explore financial leadership.  The Principal Leadership Academy, a joint effort to shepherd aspiring Hamilton County Schools’ principals, was created by a board representing UTC, Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, the Public Education Foundation and the Hamilton County School system.  The group now governs the program.

USA TODAY Readership program continues in spring semester

USA TODAY Readership program on the UTC campus concluded its pilot program in early December with students reading 10,124 newspapers over 20 days for an average of 506 newspapers read daily.  The Chattanooga Times Free Press is also included in the program. Graduate student attends leadership conference in nation’s capitol

Adrienne Teague, recipient of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Fellowship for the 2010-2011 Presidential Fellows Program through the Center for the Study of the Presidency, enjoyed networking during the program’s fall leadership conference held recently in Washington, DC. Teague, who is pursuing the Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management, said the group discussed current economic climate and budgetary impacts, the future of Congress following

Chattanooga Chapter of EWI contributes to scholarship fund

The Chattanooga Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) recently presented a check for $11,293 to Chancellor Roger Brown in support of the Jean Bradford Memorial Scholarship at UTC. Established in 1996 by the Chattanooga Chapter of Executive Women International in memory of former EWI member Jean (Mrs. James) Bradford, the Jean Bradford Memorial Scholarship assists women, particularly displaced homemakers and single mothers, who return to school with a plan:
