On the choppy waters of the Tennessee River, onlookers watched UTC rowers race a student-built concrete canoe against a traditional rowing shell. On Nov. 16, the “Athletes vs. Engineers” event showcased the skills of the UTC Department of Civil Engineering and UTC Rowing Team in a 500-meter race.
UTC recognized among nation’s best veteran-supporting universities by Military Times
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has again been recognized by Military Times as one of the nation’s top universities for veterans and military-connected students. UTC placed second among Tennessee institutions and is the only university in the state recognized for offering both traditional in-person and online programs for veterans.

Amy Brown found her place at UTC and is helping other transfer students find theirs
Amy Brown’s path to higher education has been anything but traditional. A transfer student from Cleveland State Community College, she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UTC in May. Now, she is a student in UTC’s master’s program in psychological science.
