Student composer hits successful note

Ethan McGrath listened to the choirs of St. Paul’s, Good Shepherd, and St. Timothy’s Episcopal churches in Chattanooga at their Choral Evensong event last May, not as an observer, but as the composer of the premiere of a liturgical work the three churches commissioned him to write.

The Fine Arts Center on the corner of Palmetto and Vine houses the Roland Hayes Concert Hall and the Dorothy Hackett Ward Theatre, two great spots to enjoy upcoming performances by the Department of Music and the Department of Theatre and Speech.

Concert to celebrate Roland Carter’s retirement on April 19

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Music Department in conjunction with UTC’s Chancellor’s Office and Development office will present a Gala Concert celebrating Roland Carter’s career and honoring his retirement on Friday, April 19th, at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church at 401 Gateway Avenue in Chattanooga.
