UTC students build ropes course for Georgia elementary school

Students at Gilbert Elementary School in LaFayette, Ga., have a new way to have fun outside while building their problem-solving skills. This past spring, UTC students in the Outdoor Leadership Skills class, led by Dr. Drew Bailey, constructed a ropes course in a wooded area next to the school.

For the past academic year Dr. Gary Liguori, Department Head, Health and Human Performance, had a packed schedule that included a flight to Wuhan, China where he presented at the Global Fitness Summit, and a trip to the White House for a meeting with Michelle Obama as part of her “Let’s Move” initiative.

Health Services for Students Only Steps Away

You might be away from home, and from mom pestering you to get that annual flu shot, but UTC has your back when you’re not feeling well. Student Health Services (SHS) has partnered with Physical Therapy (PT) and Health and Human Performance (HHP) to offer new health options. PT assessments and care are now available by appointment on Tuesdays 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Thursdays 1 – 5
