Happy Fall, Mocs Parents, Families and Supporters!
As midterms approach, many students experience lots of stress and pressure. Balancing exams, papers, and assignments can be overwhelming, and it’s natural for your student to feel the weight of the semester. This month, we’re focusing on mental health and well-being, providing insights and resources to help your student manage stress as they make their way through this challenging time.
At UTC, we are deeply committed to supporting our students’ mental health. We encourage you to remind your student about the UTC Counseling Center, which offers free, confidential services, including one-on-one counseling and group workshops tailored to handling the stress of college life. In addition, the Center for Wellbeing is a fantastic resource for promoting holistic health, offering resources and tools to build a well-balanced lifestyle.
Your role as family members is essential. Simply checking in with your student and encouraging healthy habits like sleep, exercise, and proper nutrition can make a world of difference. Additionally, providing a reminder that asking for help is a strength can give your student the confidence they may need to seek support.
We are here to support you and your student every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out at utcparents@utc.edu. Together, we can help our students navigate all of the challenging, fun and celebratory aspects of the college journey.

Mocs Don’t Haze: A week of awareness to prevent campus hazing
Greetings from Janice Cosey, Bursar
The Fall 2023 Semester will end in a little over 10 weeks! Season is changing and the holidays are just around the corner.
We are still prepared to assist in the continued educational journey of your student(s)! Email should be checked regularly to avoid any oversight of important information via the student portal, MyMocsNet. It is suggested students provide access to parents, guardians, or others, by setting up the MyMocsPass Phase, through the MyMocsNet account, which also allows the Bursar Office Team to discuss specific account related information.
We continue to encourage students to set up ACH/Direct Deposit for refunds through the student’s MyMocsNet account. It is a vital step to ensure the funds expected can be delivered as quickly and securely as possible. Paper checks are mailed to the permanent address on file, which can take 5-10+ days via USPS. If assistance is needed on adding the refund account information, please go to www.utc.edu/bursar, click the “Video Instructions” tab in the middle of the page and click on the video titled “Bursar Series: Direct Deposit.
If the Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) was utilized for the Fall Semester, the second payment is due on October 1 and the final payment will be due on November 1. A late fee is applied on the 4th of the month if the scheduled payment is not received.
If you have general questions, please contact our office at 423.425.4781 or email us at Bursars-Office@utc.edu. The office is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.
