Dr. David Aborn (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) has received $50,000 from the Riverview Foundation for the project entitled, “Wood Thrush Migratory Connectivity Using Motus Tracking Stations.”

Dr. Hill Craddock (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) has requested and received $4,113 from the American Chestnut Foundation for the project entitled, “Silviculture of the American Chestnut in the Cumberland Uplands of Tennessee.”

Dr. Stephanie DeVries (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science) has received $16,383 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison for the project entitled, “Water security in Armenia, WI: Modeling for informed decision-making in a nitrate-impacted watershed.”

Tara Mathis (Office of the Dean of Students) and Linda Hinkle (Veteran Student Services) have received $136,778 from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for the project entitled, “UTC Veteran Reconnect.”

Dr. Brooke Persons (Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies) has received $6,847 from Maho Crossroads for the project entitled, “Phase I Archaeological Survey of Plot 3-2 Miland, St. John, US Virgin Islands.”

Dr. Anthony Skjellum (SimCenter) has requested and received $30,000 from the U.S. Department of Energy via Sandia National Lab for the project entitled, “ATSE Spack.”

Laurie Allen and Angela Dittmar (Southeast Center for Education) have requested $3,520 from the Alabama Department of Education for the project entitled, “Buckets and Brushes: A Whole-School Arts Integration Program for Increasing Access to Music and Visual Art.”

Drs. Jejal Reddy Bathi, Soubantika Palchoudhury (Civil and Chemical Engineering), and Kidambi Sreenivas (Mechanical Engineering) have requested $24,995 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the project entitled, “Microplastics Sampling for Stormwater Management.”

Drs. Michael Danquah and Bradley Harris (Civil and Chemical Engineering) have requested $280,509 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Collaborative Research: RUI: Engineering CD19 Apta-Binding Dynamics for Enhanced Targeting.”

Dr. Michelle Deardorff (Political Science and Public Service) has requested $15,000 from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for the project entitled, “2019-20 Washington Center internship program.”

Dr. Bradley Harris (Civil and Chemical Engineering) has requested $32,695 from Ginko, LLC for the project entitled, “Compact Waste-to-Energy Machine by Gasification of Yard and Wood Waste.”

Dr. Francesca Leasi (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science), Nyssa Hunt (IGTLab), and Dr. Lakmali Weeraseena (Mathematics) have requested $560,739 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Collaborative Research: Drivers of meta-community for microscopic species.”

Dr. Daniel Loveless (Electrical Engineering) has requested $49,807 in supplemental funding from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “REU Site: An Interdisciplinary CubeSat Research and STEM Education Platform at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTChattSat).”

Professor Catherine Middleton (Finance & Economics), Dr. Robert Dooley (Gary W. Rollins College of Business), and Takeo Suzuki (Center for Global Education) have requested $166,614 from FHI 360 for the project entitled, “Study of the United States Institutes – 2020.”

Dr. Renee Murley (School of Education) has requested $60,571 from the Tennessee Department of Education for the project entitled, “2019-20 Governor’s School for Prospective Teachers.”

Dr. Osama Osman (Civil and Chemical Engineering) has requested $114,999 from Old Dominion University for the project entitled, “E-Scooter Safety: Issues and Solutions.”

Professor Kristina Wick (School of Nursing), Dr. Jessica Freeman (Communication), Dr. Cathy Scott, and Professor April Wilson (Social Work) have requested $21,230 from the Tennessee Department of Health for the project entitled, “Tennessee Dementia Friendly Community Funding Opportunity.”

Dr. Mengjun Xie (National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense), Dr. Chang Phuong, and Professor David Schwab (Computer Science and Engineering) have requested $70,192 from the U.S. Department of Defense via the National Security Agency Central Security Service for the project entitled, “UTC GenCyber Student Camp.”

Dr. Mengjun Xie (National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense), Dr. Chang Phuong, and Professor David Schwab (Computer Science and Engineering) have requested $75,427 from the U.S. Department of Defense via the National Security Agency Central Security Service for the project entitled, “UTC GenCyber Teacher Camp.”
