Greetings, faculty!
Please see the list of announcements, funding opportunities, and resources below. Archives of previous updates are available on ORSP’s blog.
Announcements
- ORSP has said farewell to Award & Contract Specialist David Veazey, who has left UTC to assume a new role at Penn State. His last day with us was Friday, February 28. A search for his replacement is already underway, and we look forward to welcoming a new colleague soon. In the meantime, please reach out to Angie-Morelock@utc.edu with any award, contract, or post-award concerns.
- The UT System has created a Federal Executive Orders Resource Center to offer timely information on current and emerging developments affecting federally sponsored projects. See the guidance for researchers page for more details.
- Attention early career faculty! See the Early Career Funding Opportunities section below for solicitations tailored to you, including the NSF CAREER program. If you are planning to submit to one or more of these programs and haven’t already been connected with a Grants Specialist, please reach out to Ashley-Ledford@utc.edu.
- ORSP has standardized the process for proposal notification, development, and submission. Click here to view required internal deadlines, effective for UTC proposals due on or after April 1, 2025.

Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight: Visitors Engaged in Research
UT Policy RE0002 outlines the policy and procedures on visitors engaging in research on UT campuses. The policy applies equally to sponsored and non-sponsored projects and requires a visitor information packet to be submitted at least 30 days prior to arriving on campus. A decision tree for determining whether the policy applies to your situation is available on ORI’s webpage here.
