- Please join ORSP in welcoming our new team member! Reagan de la Torre has joined Award Services as our Contract and Award Specialist, effective May 12. Reagan comes to us from UTC’s Career Connections, where she served as the Assistant Director of Community and Employer Relations. She brings to her new role a wealth of project management experience in nonprofit and university settings, and we’re thrilled to have her on board. Welcome, Reagan!
- The UTC Research Institute has released a new call for CEACSE proposals. The Research Innovation and Strategic Expansion (RISE) program will support early-stage, high-potential research projects that strengthen the UTC Research Institute’s two pillars (Center for Urban Informatics and Progress and the Quantum Center). - PIs, Budget Managers and support staff are encouraged to attend the DASH Financial Reporting Office Hours on May 19. It will include a demo on how to run new financial reports in DASH. Click here to learn more and register.
- US Department of Energy is hosing a webinar on May 19 to assist students, postdocs, and early career professors/staff scientists with identifying funding opportunities and providing tips for writing successful proposals to write successful proposals to the DOE Office of Basic Energy Sciences (DOE BES). - NSF invites researchers to join its reviewer pool through a new one-time registration process in research.gov. This opportunity is open to all researchers, regardless of appointment type or tenure. Early career faculty are especially encouraged to participate. Learn more and sign up here.
- Federal research priorities and grant requirements remain dynamic. ORSP is monitoring the changes closely, and we welcome your questions:

Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight: Participation in Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs
UT Policy RE0003 applies to any individual who contributes in a substantive, meaningful way to a research or development project (e.g., a senior or other key personnel). Covered individuals must adhere to the following UT procedures:
- Disclose participation in any Foreign Talent Recruitment Program to the University as an outside interest in accordance with GE-0002 (Conflict of Interest & Commitment) within 30 days of the participation.
- Disclose participation in any Foreign Talent Recruitment Program to federal agencies through CPS documentation at the time of proposal submission.
- Certify that they are not party to a Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program, as defined in this policy, at the time of proposal submission. Individuals who are party to such a program are not eligible to serve as key personnel on a federally sponsored program.
- Participate in training related to participation in foreign talent recruitment programs.
