Announcements
- ORSP welcomes Samantha Dean, a graduate student in Psychological Science, as our new Graduate Assistant for this summer and Academic Year 2025-2026. Samantha will support both pre-award and post-award functions. We’re thrilled to have her on board!
- Attention Department Heads: If any grant-active faculty from your department will be leaving UTC this summer, please reach out to Meredith-Perry@utc.edu so that ORSP can make a transition plan for their awards and initiate any applicable sponsor approval requests.
- Attention NSF PIs and Co-PIs: Beginning this week, all PIs or co-PIs named on an NSF award made on or after May 20, 2024, must certify annually in Research.gov that they are not party to a Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs (MFTRP). Impacted PIs and co-PIs will be prompted to complete the MFTRP certification after signing into Research.gov. Please be on the lookout for this prompt.
- The NSF Molecular and Cellular Biosciences division is hosting a webinar on how to write a competitive NSF proposal on Wednesday, June 11. Much of the content will be broadly applicable to all NSF programs. Early career faculty and those new to NSF are encouraged to attend. Learn more and register here.
- The DOE Office of Science BES Early Career Network is hosting a webinar on effective interdisciplinary science communication on Tuesday, June 17. Early career researchers and students are encouraged to attend. Learn more and register here.
- A virtual townhall for the DASH Research Employee Compensation Compliance (ECC) module will be held on Wednesday, June 25. More details—including the agenda and access link—will be available soon on the DASH Research ECC Community site.
- NIH has released new policy considerations and guidance on incorporating AI into research activities. ORSP strongly encourages all investigators working on an NIH proposal or award to review these updates closely.

Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight: NSF Sexual Harassment Reporting Terms & Conditions
NSF’s policy requires that institutions report harassment and/or assault involving NSF-funded PIs and/or Co-PIs. This term & condition covers sexual harassment, other forms of harassment, and sexual assault. Other forms of harassment include but are not limited to harassment based on ethnicity, race, or disability. UTC’s process for adhering to this requirement, as well as information on how to report harassment to UTC and NSF can be found here.
