Getting Gritty: Resiliency Group Sign-Ups are Live!
UTC’s resiliency program, is a six week, non-credit course offered through Canvas with weekly live and in-person, group sessions. Through cognitive reframing, a mindful awareness of self, healthy coping skills, and identified supports, it is possible to overcome stress, trauma, and adversity. This does not mean the journey to overcome these barriers will be easy, but the tools learned in this course will assist in the healing process and get students closer to achieving their personal and professional goals. 30 spots available | Click HERE to register | Program begins week of October 3

Apply to Pitch Your Business Idea at Hatch It!
All great businesses start with just an idea. Maybe you have one you’d like to pursue? Hatch It! Mocs Big Business Idea Competition is our fall pitch competition where a good idea can earn you some cash and start-up resources to get your business going. Students in any major at either the undergraduate or graduate level are welcome to apply. You don’t have to have all the details worked out, but you do need to prove that there is a market for your product or service, and that you are the right team to move this new venture forward. Campus Fire Safety Month
Did you know that putting a pizza box in an oven is a fire hazard? Boxes burn, and if someone were to turn on the oven with the pizza box inside, it could start a fire. Do a quick internet images search for “campus dorm fire” to see the devastation that we all can prevent here at UTC. September is Campus Fire Safety Month, and UTC Safety and Risk Management shared this video with tips for staying safe in your home—whether on or off campus. Panel Discussion on October 4: Russia and the Ukraine
Please join Dr. Irina Khmelko, UC Foundation Professor of Political Science & Public Service and Marina Peshterianu, Executive Director of Bridge Refugee Services in Chattanooga for a panel discussion examining the policies and politics surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine, how that situation is impacting refugees from Ukraine and refugee needs in greater Chattanooga, and how we might be able, as individuals, to help. The discussion is being hosted by the UTC Honors College and will take place in the Guerry Reading Room in the Honors College on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 5:30 pm, a day before Kyiv City Ballet begins the first of three performances in UTC’s newly renovated Fine Arts Center.

The Power of WE: An Externship Experience at BlueCross Blue Shield of Tennessee
UTC students from ALL majors are invited to register and join us for The Power of WE, a hands-on externship experience with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. This externship will held on Wednesday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be an in-person experience at the beautiful downtown campus of BlueCross and includes lunch.
