A concurrent panel delving into artificial intelligence technology is titled “Leveraging AI and CAV for Smarter, Safer and Greener Mobility“
Panelists include:
Peter Jin, an entrepreneur and researcher involved in high-performance AI/machine learning/deep learning systems; algorithms and theory for deep learning, reinforcement learning; and enabling AI/ML software to train on large-scale datasets on distributed, parallel hardware.
Arman Sargolzaei, a University of South Florida professor and researcher in applying linear and nonlinear control methods; machine learning and artificial intelligence to the field of connected and autonomous vehicles.
Aleksandar Stevanovic, a University of Pittsburgh professor and director of the university’s Pittsburgh Intelligent Transportation Systems Laboratory (PITTS Lab).
In addition to hosting by the UTC Research Institute, Chattanooga Connect 2024 is being hosted by the Center for Urban Informatics and Progress (CUIP) at UTC. The conference will bring together global industry leaders, policymakers, technologists and researchers to explore the future of urban transportation and cutting-edge advancements in digital infrastructure, AI, and connected and automated vehicles.
Notable speakers will include ITS America President and CEO Laura Chace and Tim Drake, ITS America’s senior vice president of public policy and government affairs. Kate Evans, director of the Office of Institutional Strategic Planning at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, will discuss innovations in computational sciences. Callie Cook, global director of R&D initiatives at the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, will highlight state-level partnerships in tech and development.
“Although this event is only in its first year, the variety and quality of speakers we’ve been able to attract is proof positive that Chattanooga is one of the most exciting destinations in the country for emerging technologies and smart city innovations,” said Dr. Mina Sartipi, executive director of the UTC Research Institute and founding director of CUIP. “Attendees can expect to hear the latest thinking about real-world applications of AI in transportation and policy frameworks that are shaping the future of urban mobility.”
Early bird registration is open, with discounted rates available until Sept. 27, 2024. After that date, standard registration fees will apply.
