Faculty and Staff,
The Office of Student Conduct oversees the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) Student Code of Conduct and Honor Code processes for the University. Faculty and Staff who serve on the Student Conduct Board and Honor Code Board are appointment based on interest and impartiality. This is an excellent way for faculty and staff to provide service to the University.
As we begin a new academic year, we are seeking faculty and staff members who are interested in serving as members of the Student Conduct Board and Honor Code Board for the 2022-2023 academic year.
About:
Students accused of violating the Student Code of Conduct or Honor Code are provided numerous hearing options. These options include an impartial hearing before a group of student, faculty, and staff for the Student Code of Conduct or students and faculty for the Honor Code. Boards review evidence, hear testimony, and render decisions on assigned cases.
Training:
The Office of Student Conduct and the Office of the Title IX Coordinator provide training for individuals serving on the Student Conduct Board and Honor Code Board. Training includes information on the history of student conduct, University policy, processes, and procedures, as well as state and federal laws.
Requirements:
None. Service is open to all Faculty and Staff. Members will serve on boards as hearings are requested and schedules permit. Note: Faculty/staff who have participated during previous academic years are encouraged to continue their participation; there are no limitations on years of service.
