September is Suicide Prevention Month.
Suicide Prevention Hike, 9/23, 4:00 pm – Calling hikers of all levels to join Mocs Recovery + Center for Wellbeing for an enjoyable walk in the woods, as we dialogue on the importance of taking care of our mental health. We will meet at the Spears Avenue parking lot entrance at Stringer’s Ridge at 4pm. You will have the option to hike with us between 2-3 miles, with an invitation to share in a picnic Pizza dinner as we conclude the hike. Sponsored by the Center for Wellbeing.
Columbia Scale Training, 9/27, 3:00-4:00 pm -The Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS) was developed as a simple and evidence-based way to screen for suicidal ideation and behavior. This tool can be used by individuals with no prior mental health training to determine whether someone is at risk of suicide. The questions are in simple, plain language that anyone can ask. The C-SSRS is designed for use around the world for research, communities, healthcare, schools, first responders, families, friends, and neighbors. Sponsored by the Center for Wellbeing.
