Hello UTC Community,
The UTC Police Department is excited to be offering R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) training this November 02-04, at the Challenger Center Building, Room 148, across from the UTC Police Department between 06:00 p.m. – 08:00 p.m. Sgt. Rebecca Tolbert is a certified R.A.D. instructor with the UTC Police Department and is excited to be teaching this course to all interested. Participation is free.
This class does not require any special training or fitness level. Students, Faculty, and Staff at all levels of ability, experience, and strength are encouraged to attend. This basic training class is scheduled in blocks and you must be able to attend all block dates in order to receive certification and attend the advanced class. All participants will be provided with information and techniques that can be effectively used from the first day of class. This basic self-defense program is for all women, ages 12 and up.
R.A.D. is an internationally recognized alliance of self-defense educators dedicated to enhancing self-defense options for women, while developing their individually unique abilities to manage aggressive and violent behavior. It is the largest organization or program endorsed by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). R.A.D’s self-defense philosophies have been taught at over 3,500 colleges, universities, city, county and state police departments nationwide.
