Welcome back to campus and Spring Semester 2023. We would like to share a few reminders about infectious disease reporting.
If a UTC faculty, staff or student is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, it is recommended that they mask when around others and consider an evaluation by a healthcare provider. University Health Services continues to be available for testing and guidance related to COVID-19 and other similar viruses. In the event that someone is advised by a healthcare provider to isolate or quarantine, documentation reflecting the recommendation for students should be provided to the Office of Student Outreach and Support per the Academic Notification Process (www.utc.edu/excuse) in order to initiate notices to instructors; employees should submit documentation of the recommendations to their supervisor. All documentation submitted with isolation or quarantine recommendations should include a date to return to work or class and any other details regarding the return such as masking guidance.
Dr. Yasmine Key, director of UHS, and I are continuing to monitor the level of infection on campus and will communicate as the need arises. Again, welcome back.
