Attending to feelings and experiences of dignity is crucial to building relationships of trust and mutual understanding. Violations of dignity are often the root cause of anger, resentment, mistrust, and destructive conflict. In this session, you will explore the importance of dignity in workplace relationships; discuss how to honor dignity & avoid violations; and strategize ways to uphold the dignity of yourself and others. Creating Harmony Between Generations at Work

Today’s workplace dynamics are rapidly changing. It’s possible for one workplace to have four different generations on the same team sharing the same space. Because different generations bring their own values, rules and styles, that can sometimes lead to conflict or unproductive competition. Leadership Development Opportunity
The NCEL Professional Excellence Series provides quarterly leadership development courses in Knoxville, Nashville, and Jackson. One day of training includes two courses (9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm).
Courses are provided from a library of thirty classes in a variety of Lominger Leadership competencies in three NCEL domains: self, relational, and organizational. The library includes courses for the individual contributors, to frontline supervisors, to middle managers, and to executives. The concept of the “best man” has its origin in medieval Germany when the best man was identified as that trusted individual who had your back, supported you, who would go to battle with you and for you. The BEST Man Forum is designed to connect and meet the needs of the UT men that serve our campuses and institutes. The forum serves as a catalyst to unite UT men system-wide, to learn, network, and contribute to embodiment of the Be One UT Values in performance, behaviors, and relationships.
Statewide, exempt employees and/or those who have supervisory responsibilities are welcome to register for this two-day conference to be held in Knoxville at the UT Conference Center Bldg. The forum will consist of the following: three facilitated small-group sessions focused on Building Essential Skills Together; an Executive Leadership Panel; an extensive networking, games night, and vendor session.
