Dr. Meredith Barbee (Chemistry) has received $55,000 from the American Chemical Society for the project entitled, “Expanding Covalent Mechanochemistry to Commonly Used Polymer Materials.”
Cindy Hornsby (Children’s Center) has received $144,471 from the Tennessee Department of Human Services for the project entitled, “TDHS/HHS Child Care Stabilization Funds Round 3 – Brown Academy.”
Cindy Hornsby (Children’s Center) has received $98,831 from the Tennessee Department of Human Services for the project entitled, “TDHS/HHS Child Care Stabilization Funds Round 3 – Battle Academy.”
Dr. Hope Klug (Biology, Geology and Environmental Science) has received $15,801 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “The Operation of Sexual Selection Revisited.”
Dr. Ashley Manning-Berg (Biology, Geology and Environmental Science) has received $25,999 from the US Geological Survey for the project entitled, “Tennessee Water Resources Research Center Program.”
Dr. Robert Truan (Music) has received $5,000 from the Tennessee Arts Commission for the project entitled, “Jerry Tachoir Musical Performance.”

Dr. Seong Dae Kim (Engineering Management and Technology) has requested $100,000 from the Gateway South Innovation District for the project entitled, “Zero-Energy Modular (ZEM) House.”
Dr. Steven Oberheim (Counseling), Megan McKnight and Jami Hargrove (Center for Wellbeing) have requested $114,355 from the Hamilton County Government for the project entitled, “Development of a Clinical Addictions Studies Certificate Program.”
Dr. Erkan Kaplanoglu (Engineering Management Technology) in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University has requested $109,991 from the National Institute of Health for the project entitled, “Johns Hopkins AITC Proposal.”
Dr. Terry Zhang and Dr. Mina Sartipi (UTC Research Institute) in collaboration with Rutgers University have requested $199,992 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “CC-IRG Track 2: Collaborative Knowledge Harvesting, Interpretation, Generation, Prescription, and Transformation (HIGPT) for Community Traffic Safety.”
Dr. Erkan Kaplanoglu and Dr. Gokhan Erdemir (Engineering Management Technology) in collaboration with University of Massachusetts, Amherst have requested $99,564 from the National Institute of Health for the project entitled, “Mass AITC Proposal.”
Dr. Irven Resnick (Philosophy and Religion) has requested $99,998 from the National Endowment for the Humanities for the project entitled, “Thomas of Cantimpré’s On the Nature of Things and Natural Philosophy.”
Dr. Yu Liang (Computer Science and Engineering), Dr. Tian Li (Chemistry and Physics), Dr. Yingfeng Wang, and Dr. Dalei Wu (Computer Science and Engineering) have requested $1,140,175 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “SCH: Q-Music: Pioneering Quantum Computing in Music-Driven Diagnosis and Therapy.”
Dr. Jin Wang and Dr. Thien Le (Mathematics), in collaboration with the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, have requested $1,013,859 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “A Joint Computational and Experimental Investigation for the Transmission Dynamics of Frogeye Leaf Spot.”
Dr. Jisook Kim, Dr. Titus Albu (Chemistry and Physics), Dr. Jannatul Ferdoush, Dr. David Giles (Biology, Geology and Environmental Science), Dr. Jared Pienkos, Dr. Steven Symes, Dr. Keenan Dungey (Chemistry and Physics), Dr. Tomojit Ghosh, Dr. Yingfeng Wang (Computer Science and Engineering), Dr. have requested $1,072,498 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “MRI: Track 1 Acquisition of a High Resolution Accurate Mass QTOF LC-Mass Spectrometer for UTC and the Chattanooga Region.”
Dr. Yingfeng Wang (Computer S cience and Engineering) in collaboration with the University of North Texas has requested $359,971 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Machine Learning-Enhanced Peptide and Protein Identification.”
Dr. Ziwei Ma (Mathematics) in collaboration with New Mexico State University and the University of Texas at El Paso has requested $299,994 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Rehabilitation Evaluation of Neurologic Motor Disorders using Wearable Sensors and Anomaly Detection of High Dimensional Time Series Models.”
