We are currently accepting applications to our Summer 2024 doctoral cohorts (PhD/EdD). If any of your friends or colleagues with a Master’s degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution are interested in pursuing their terminal degree in leadership at UTC, we encourage them to apply or to reach out for more information. Due to the cohort nature of the programs, applications are typically accepted December through February for each incoming Summer cohort. New cohorts are admitted in Summer only. All application materials, including official transcripts, must be submitted by February 29, 2024.
Two separate doctoral degree designations (PhD & EdD) are currently offered to new cohort members. Minimum admission qualifications, application requirements, and step-by-step application instructions are provided on the PhD & EdD program websites (links provided below).
- Leadership and Decision-Making (PhD) – Hybrid delivery
- One initial Summer foundational course offered via hybrid delivery, i.e., two synchronous face-to-face meetings on the UT-Chattanooga campus and material work online; all remaining core coursework for the PhD is delivered via hybrid delivery – typically 4-6 synchronous face-to-face meetings on the UT-Chattanooga campus each semester and material work online
- Leadership and Instructional Practice (EdD) – Primarily Internet delivery
- One initial Summer foundational course offered via hybrid delivery, i.e., two synchronous face-to-face meetings on the UT-Chattanooga campus and material work online; all remaining core coursework for the EdD is delivered asynchronously online
We routinely schedule Zoom meetings with the Program Advisor to determine whether our doctoral programs are a good “fit” for prospective applicants’ specific academic and professional goals. Prospective applicants may contact the LEAD Program Office at utclead@utc.edu to schedule a meeting.
