UTC’s community-wide book club returns January 20 with a five-session season of novels based on the theme of “Americans abroad.” Each session features a UTC faculty member presenting his or her chosen novel. Readings include classics like Henry James’s Daisy Miller, as well as mid-century classics and thrillers like Paul Bowles’s The Sheltering Sky and Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Held Tuesday nights at 6 pm in the Tennessee Room in the University Center, all sessions are free and open to the public. No RSVP is required, nor do attendees need to have read the books. A light dinner is served.
Books are available at online retailers and at the UTC Bookstore in the University Center. Direct questions to Dr. Aaron Shaheen at aaron-shaheen@utc.edu.
