I am so proud of the accomplishments of our UTC team during the past two years as we have navigated a global pandemic and strived to serve our students and community with excellence. The hot summer months are a busy time for many of our offices, but we all need time to recharge and regroup.
In acknowledgement of the hard work of our UTC team we are going to try to provide schedule flexibility to as many staff as possible for the heart of the summer. As of June 27, we will offer greater flexibility to each vice chancellor enabling them to set temporary work schedules for staff in their division through the month of July. We will offer as many staff as possible the option to work either four days per week for 10 hours per day, to work remotely one day per week, or provide other creative options for flexibility.
Of course, we must ensure that our offices are supporting students, faculty, staff, community guests and prospective families at the highest level. No university office should be closed at any time during traditional work week hours, and we realize that not all units will be able to participate in the specific options noted above: four 10-hour work days per week or one day per week remote work. I have encouraged each vice chancellor to look for creative ways to provide options for every staff member to have a change of pace and additional flexibility. HR will be sending out a communication to the campus outlining the details of this experimental program.
Thank you for all you do.
Go Mocs!!
