Dr. Lucien Ellington and Jeffrey Melnik (School of Education) have received $88,436 from the Association for Asian Studies for the project entitled, “Education About Asia Journal 2023.”
Dr. Dawn Ford (Health & Human Performance) has received $1,500 from the UNFoundation for the project entitled, “Testing Drinking Water for Lead: Child Care Center Incentives.”
Dr. June Hanks and Dr. Betsy Myers (Physical Therapy) have received $665 from the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association for the project entitled, “Validity and Reliability of Joint Motion Assessment Devices.”
Dr. Max Jordon and Dr. Matthew Grubb (Physical Therapy) have received $1,000 from the Tennessee Physical Therapy Association for the project entitled, “Short- and Intermediate-Term Effects of Electro Dry Needling on Temporal Summation.”
Dr. Donald Reising (Electrical Engineering) has received $99,973 from Tennessee Valley Authority for the project entitled, “DFR Waveform Analysis.”
Rachel Waldrop (Art) has received $4,985 from Tri-Star Arts for the project entitled, “As It Was Give(n) to Me: Stacy Kranitz.”

Dr. Laurie Allen, Dr. Bill Floyd, Tiffany Edwards (Challenger Center), Dr. Jason Gordon, Dr. Jennifer Lynberg, Dr. Rachael Tawbush Davis (School of Education), and Dr. Marcy Porter (CHEPS) have requested $1,996,993 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Opportunities to Understand Role-playing Simulations for Promoting Access, Connections, and Engagement (OUR SPACE) for Neurodiverse Learners.”
Dr. Murat Barisik (Mechanical Engineering) has requested $249,999 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “LEAPS-MPS: Molecular-level Characterization of Water-in-Salt Electric Double-Layer Capacitors: Nanoscale Thermal Effects on Differential Capacitance.”
Dr. Michael Danquah (Civil & Chemical Engineering) and Dr. Yingfeng Wang (Computer Science & Engineering), in collaboration with several partnering universities, have requested $445,678 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “Fingerprinting CD19 expression and Apta-Binding Dynamics Analysis.”
Dr. Jannatul Ferdoush (Biology, Geology, & Environmental Science) has requested $5,000 from Oak Ridge Associated Universities for the project entitled, “Understanding the Upregulation/Overexpression of TAF2 (TATA Box-Binding Protein-Associated Factor 2) in Cancer Cells.”
Dr. Dawn Ford (Health & Human Performance) has requested $9,988 from Walden University for the project entitled, “The San Salvador Bahamas Community Garden Enrichment Program: A Transdisciplinary Approach to Healthy Living for Social Change.”
Dr. Tian Li (Chemistry & Physics) and Dr. Donald Reising (Electrical Engineering) have requested $5,000 from Oak Ridge Associated Universities for the project entitled, “Heisenberg-Limited Quantum Sensing Across Entanglement Distributed Quantum Networks.”
Dr. Elizabeth O’Brien (Counseling), in collaboration with Hamilton County Public Schools, has requested $349,616 from the U.S. Department of Education for the project entitled, “Mental Health Service Interns at Hamilton County Schools.”
Dr. Daniel Pack and Dr. Zachary Ruble (Electrical Engineering), in collaboration with New Mexico State University, have requested $426,155 from the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration for the project entitled, “Energy-Aware Autonomy for Safe and Sustainable Operation of Electric Aerial Vehicles.”
Dr. Mina Sartipi (CUIP), in collaboration with Leidos Innovation Corporation, has requested $54,665 from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “LiDAR FLIR Fusion.”
Dr. Jin Wang, Dr. Ziwei Ma (Mathematics), Dr. Dawn Ford (Health & Human Performance), Dr. Gregory Heath (Health & Human Performance), and Charlie Mix (IGTLab) have requested $249,779 from the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists for the project entitled, “CSTE Application: Development of Forecast, Analytic, and Visualization Tools to Improve Outbreak Response and Support Public Health Decision-Making.”
