Tickets! Get your tickets!

Last week, the Mocs’ marketing and ticketing departments launched a month-long (August 2-September 3) initiative with a goal of 500 new or renewed season tickets sold.

All season ticket holders signed up by this Sunday (August 14) will be invited to the August 15 closed-to-the-public practice at Finley Stadium. A unique gift awaits all season ticket holders, including those who have already purchased their season tickets.


Welcome Students During Welcome Week

The Office of Student and Family Engagement is seeking volunteers for Welcome Week. There are two opportunities to volunteer and help welcome our new and returning Mocs to campus:

  • Oak Street Roast on Sunday, August 21: Oak Street Roast has been the kickoff to Welcome Week for over 25 years. Volunteers are needed to help with various aspects of event management, as more than 1,500 student attendees are expected to participate. Click here to volunteer for Oak Street Roast.
  • Welcome Tables on Monday, August 22, and Tuesday, August 23: Welcome Tables are set up in various locations around campus on the first two days of classes. Volunteers will distribute Welcome Week information, giveaways and water and help direct students around campus. Click here to volunteer for Welcome Tables.

Keeping Parents and Families Informed

The September edition of the UTC Parent and Family Association newsletter will be emailed to members on Wednesday, September 7. There are over 3,000 email addresses on file for the 2022-2023 academic year, and that figure keeps rising.

If you have information you would like to share with the families of our students, such as upcoming events, important deadlines, helpful suggestions and departmental news, email details to Hannah-Turcotte@utc.edu by Friday, August 26.  

  • Please keep the message to one paragraph of 200 (or fewer) words.
  • If you have images or logos to accompany the paragraph, send those along as well.

Coming Soon: Virtual Fall Research Conference

Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavor’s Virtual Fall Research Conference will be held via the Symposium by ForagerOne platform on August 25-26. Graduate and undergraduate students who participated in summer research are encouraged to present at the conference.

The presenter materials submission guide includes submission instructions, links to presentation templates and the link to submit presentation materials. The deadline to submit conference materials to the platform is Sunday, August 21.


Seeking Public Service Award Applicants

Alumni House

Alumni House (551 Oak St. — corner of Oak and Douglas)

A scholarship of $500 is to be awarded annually at homecoming by the UTC Alumni Board of Directors and the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs to two individuals displaying the most distinguished service to the UTC campus and the Chattanooga community.

University service can include voluntary positions or positions accompanied by a stipend. Community public service can include volunteer work in hospitals, telethons, counseling, tutoring, environmental services, Red Cross, or any service that is not paid and does not receive academic credit.

Applications must be sent via email to Jeff-Cogburn@utc.edu or dropped off in person at the Alumni House no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, September 2.

Campus Updates

The Office of the University Registrar provided important dates related to fall fee payment, registration and waitlists, including:

  • August 11, 5 p.m.: Official deadline to pay Fall 2022 fees. Registration offline for fee processing.
  • August 15, 2 p.m.: Fall 2022 registration and waitlist email notifications resume. Waitlist seats are only available for 24 hours.
  • August 17, 8:30 a.m.: Waitlists purged. Departments may now process closed class overrides.
