Homecoming week is always exciting and brings students, staff and faculty together to celebrate our university. A photo gallery of the week’s events is at https://bit.ly/2mKLVvS.
Homecoming activities included the 50-year reunion for the Class of 1969, the last graduating class before the University of Chattanooga merged with the University of Tennessee system to become the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. A large crowd of former students — with some couples who were both graduates — gathered Friday night in the library’s Roth Reading Room for reminiscing and reconnection.
The week was capped off with the Homecoming football game on Saturday – an outstanding 60-36 win over Western Carolina – and the crowning of the Homecoming Queen (Dominique Malone) and King (Yancy Freeman Jr.).

Congratulations to Coach Gavin McKinney, who notched his 100th career victory as head coach with our women’s soccer team 3-0 win over Wofford on Friday night. The team is now 6-2-2 on the year and 1-0 in league play. They have seven games left in the season, all against Southern Conference opponents. Cheer them on as they aim for the SoCon Championship, which begins on October 30.
