Congratulations to Dr. Mina Sartipi, director of the UTC Center for Urban Informatics and Progress (CUIP), on securing a $2.1 million grant from the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). Assistant professor of sociology Chandra Ward and Dr. Sartipi are collaborating on projects with other universities. Grants of $2.1 million from the National Science Foundation and $1.8 million from the U.S. Department of Energy will support projects with the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA)—in which regional transit systems will be reconceptualized using cutting-edge data science techniques. Great work!
