Congratulations to the students who are graduating this Friday and Saturday! Through hard work, determination, and perseverance you have reached a major milestone in life. Whether you are heading into a career or pursuing your education further, I wish you the best of luck. Remember, wherever you go, you will always be part of the UTC family. We are very proud of you! Go Mocs!
Several upcoming graduates have remarkable stories. One student had a devastating injury several years back and had to relearn how to walk and talk. Another is the first Mocs football player to earn a degree in electrical engineering. On Saturday, our SGA president and his mother are graduating from UTC and Chattanooga State, respectively. All these stories and others are available on the main UTC website at www.utc.edu.
As another spring semester wraps up, plans for Operation Move-In 2019 are well underway. Operation Move-In will take place on August 15, and I encourage you to volunteer. This is an important day for our campus as we welcome freshmen and their families to our campus. Please make plans to pitch in to make Operation Move-In 2019 a success. Faculty and staff can sign up to volunteer here, and students can sign up to volunteer here.
The UTC Advisory Board is having its next meeting on May 14 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the University Center’s Foundation Room.
This will be the final C-Note until the fall semester. I hope everyone is able to take some time to get away and recharge as we look forward to another exciting academic year. Have a great summer!
