Fall 2020 is nearly over. Instruction ends Saturday, Thanksgiving is the following week and finals follow soon after. Thank you to our entire campus community, students, faculty and staff for your hard work and perseverance to make it through a semester unlike anything we have experienced before. Our success is due to our team effort. Everyone stepped up and we did it. Thank you!

The UT Board of Trustees passed a resolution requiring all students, faculty and staff to receive a flu vaccination by December 14. Exceptions to the requirement are permitted for those with medical and/or religious exemptions. Further information about the flu vaccine requirements can be found on the UTC COVID-19 website.
The renovation of Hunter Hall is scheduled to begin this spring. To prepare for the project, most Hunter Hall occupants will move to the State Office Building the week of November 30, while the Interior Architecture and Design, Counselor Education and Integrated Studies programs will move to Davenport Hall. The much-needed facelift is expected to take approximately 18 months to complete.
Student Support Services, which receives most of its funding from the Department of Education, was recently re-funded for another five years after a lengthy grant competition. The total grant is projected to be almost $1.7 million. Student Support Services targets low-income individuals, first-generation college students and individuals with disabilities. Congratulations to director Melissa Laseter and her team for their outstanding work!
Good luck to the student-athletes on our Mocs men’s and women’s cross country teams when they participate in the Southern Conference fall championships this Saturday (November 21) in Macon, Georgia. Although fall cross country competition was initially canceled, the conference recently announced a rescheduling of fall championships.
As we finish this semester and look forward to 2021, thank you to everyone. Together, we have made it through trying times and redefined what it means to be a Moc. Stay safe and healthy, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
