Fall semester 2020 is fast approaching. While we are hopeful to return to normal operations this fall, we are mindful of the health risks of COVID-19. UTC has been working to identify options, policies and procedures for a return to campus that protects the health and safety of our campus community and retains the excellence of our academic programs.
I have asked Dr. Robert Dooley and Dr. Richard Brown to co-chair the fall 2020 task force with a charge of developing creative ideas/solutions for UTC to operate safely and effectively this fall. The core principles that the task force will operate under are to protect the health and safety of our faculty, staff and students, to provide a high-quality educational experience and to do so with transparency and flexibility.
The final roster of the task force will be forthcoming early next week while initial plans and recommendations move ahead this week under the direction of Co-Chairs Brown and Dooley. The success of this endeavor will take the commitment and work of the entire UTC community.
UTC has risen to the challenge of the Coronavirus crisis over the past six weeks, and I am certain we will develop a plan that ensures the quality of the educational experience for our students, while at the same time keeps the health and safety of our entire campus community at the forefront.
