Dr. Steven Angle
Message from the Chancellor

UTC strives to provide a safe environment for our students, faculty and staff and appropriate actions are in place to ensure the safety of our campus.

We share in the feelings of grief and the struggle to understand the reasons for the tragic events that occurred in Chattanooga yesterday. At UTC, we have a number of men and women on our campus who serve our country and are completing their education. These veterans and their families are in our hearts and minds as well as those who lost family members or were injured. All of us are searching for answers.

As the investigation continues, we are cooperating and coordinating with all law enforcement agencies.

For our campus family, the Counseling and Personal Development Center will be offering support to those affected by this tragedy. We have set up a hotline at (423) 756-4357 that is being monitored by the UTC Police Department in partnership with the counseling center. It is available for all members of our campus community to share their questions and concerns. Please reach out if you or others need help and support.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have been affected by this tragedy. I know that we will all continue to come together in the days and weeks ahead.
